Tour Type

Arusha National Park stands as the closest national park to Arusha town, the renowned safari capital of northern Tanzania. Often underrated, this park is a multifaceted gem, offering an array of habitats to explore within a short span of time.

At the park’s entrance gate, you’ll venture into a serene montane forest teeming with inquisitive blue monkeys and vibrant avian species like turacos and trogons. Notably, it’s the sole location within the northern safari circuit where you can easily spot the agile Black and White Colobus Monkeys. Amidst the park’s forest, the breathtaking Ngurdoto Crater unfolds, featuring steep, rocky cliffs encircling a vast marshy floor, frequented by herds of buffaloes and warthogs.

Covering an expanse of 552 square kilometers (212 square miles), Arusha National Park is situated in northern Tanzania, northeast of Arusha city center.

The best way to get to Arusha National Park

The optimal route to Arusha National Park involves a 40-minute drive from Arusha town. It’s approximately 60 kilometers (35 miles) from Kilimanjaro International Airport. Visitors can explore the lakes, forests, and Ngurdoto Crater within a half-day tour at the commencement or conclusion of an extended northern safari.

Kindly note that the duration for mountain climbing permits is limited to twelve hours.

What to do at Tour Arusha National Park
